In final minutes of true friendship, he left her to proceed.

Ag Lorg neart, a bhailíonn sí misneach chun cneasaigh a chroí briste.

Finding strength, she gathered courage to heal a broken heart.

Ní raibh an Ridire Dubh théann i bhfad, hiding gar go leor le féachaint thar agus an banphrionsa a chosaint

The Black Knight did not go far, hiding near enough to look over and protect his princess.

Theastaigh sé d'fhéadfadh sé a thairiscint di an grá is gá sí

He wished he could offer her the love she needed

Ina áit sin a rinne sé a chonradh leis an Prionsa na pian

Instead he made a pact with the Prince of pain

An Ridire a thug amach anseo chun an Prionsa, d'fhonn a shábháil croílár an banphrionsa.

The Knight gave his future to the Prince, in order to save the Heart of the Princess.

Forged in the fire lit long ago, stand next to me, you'll never stand alone. I'm last to leave, but the first to go, Lord, make me dead before you make me old.
